"My work explores the impact of using childlike simplistic imagery and shifting it into an unexpected context. The characters in my work- maybe a boy, a dog, a cloud have placid fixed expressions: a contradiction to the distressing situation they may find themselves in. The result is sometimes humorous, sometimes unnerving. And sometimes points to a deeper truth. I take my work seriously but aim to offer something subversive through close observation and humour."
